Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman Richard Gordon marks his seventh term as the head of the 71-year-old organization with new partnerships with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Health (DOH), and Pass It Forward, a philanthropic organization.
Under the agreements, PRC will receive drones from DENR and a mobile desalination vehicle from Pass It Forward to boost the organization’s disaster operations. PRC also intensified its partnership with DOH to provide healthcare assistance during disasters and emergencies.
Gordon, who serves as the chairman since 2004, consistently led fundraising efforts to beef up PRC’s assets, which now include the M/V PRC Amazing Grace, a modernized Operations Center, and hundreds of ambulances and rescue equipment.
Under his chairmanship, PRC has also become more accessible through its strategically located headquarters in Mandaluyong, 88 blood service facilities, and new warehouses and outposts in Bogo, Olongapo, Laoag, and Passi.
