The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responded to a fire incident that started at 6:45 PM and reached the 2nd alarm. The fire affected an estimated 100 families and damaged 50 houses at Brgy. 649 Baseco Compound, Port Area Manila last October 13, 2021.
PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon mobilized and deployed two fire trucks with 13 manpower to immediately extinguish the fire. PRC also sent out its ambulance to assist the affected residents, which needed immediate medical assistance.
“Kaagad nagpadala ang Red Cross ng mga fire trucks at ambulansya upang masiguro ang agarang aksyon. Laging naka alerto ang gaming operation center 24/7 upang masiguradong na mabigyan ng tulong ang mga most vulnerable sa panahon ng emergencies,” Chairman Gordon said.
The fire was out at 9:30 PM. PRC continuously monitors and assesses the situation to determine additional needs by the affected residents.
“Laging handa tumulong ang Philippine Red Cross sa panahon ng pangangailangan. As we abide by our mandate to be always first, always ready, and always there,” Gordon added.
