The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) vaccinated 919 individuals last October 23, 2021 through its bakuna centers nationwide.

PRC inoculated 407 individuals at the General Santos Mega vaccination site – veranza, 230 individuals in Camarines Sur, and 282 individuals at the Ever Gotesco mall in Quezon City. The vaccination is in coordination with the local government unit, only the PRC provided the manpower to operate.

“hindi pa tapos ang laban natin kontra COVID-19. Inaanyayahan ko ang lahat na magpabakuna dahil ito ang pinaka mabisang panlaban kontra sa virus. Libre lang ang magpabakuna at maililigtas natin hindi lamang ang ating sarili, pati na rin ang mahal natin sa buhay, ” PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.

Despite the lowering of cases compared to last month’s new cases, Sen. Dick Gordon emphasized that it should not be a reason to lower your guard as this virus can easily spread and affect the people around you.

“Ang layunin natin sa Philippine Red Cross (PRC) ay mabigyan ng bakuna ang mga tao na lubos na nangangailangan lalo na sa malalayong lugar at yung mga walang access sa bakuna,” PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC continues to deploy its Bakuna Busses to vaccinate people in far-flung areas due to the inaccessibility of Bakuna Centers in their proximity. With the help of the local government unit (LGU) of Laguna, PRC can reach and provide vaccination programs in their areas.

PRC Bakuna Bus first started its deployment on July 1, 2021, to inoculate residents in the metro. Since then, PRC Bakuna Busses have been stationed in different parts nationwide, providing vaccination to over 61 337 individuals.

PRC is set to roll out its Bakuna Bus in Bagong Silangan ES, Caloocan, Alitagtag Batangas, Brgy. Gairan, Bogo City Cebu, and Summer Point, Imus Cavite.

PRC VACCINATES CAVITE CITY

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to deploy its Bakuna Bus in Cavite, targets to inoculate 722 residents from Cypress-Gen. Trias Cavite and Buhay Tubig, Imus Cavite on September 28, 2021.

PRC, through the directives of PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon, orders the deployment of all Bakuna Busses. These busses were provided by our partners, Victory Liner, UBE express, Ceres liner to different locations in Luzon and Visayas to hasten vaccination efforts by the humanitarian organization.

“Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa ating mga bus donors upang mas mapabilis ang ating pagbabakuna sa mga most vulnerable families. Sa pamamagitan ng ating bakuna busses ay mas maabot natin ang malalayong lugar at mababakunahan ang mga tao nang sa gayon ay maprotektahan sila kontra COVID-19,”

PRC, an auxiliary to the government, helps in the vaccination efforts of the local government unit. Nevertheless, PRC handles all operating expenses from the gasoline, maintenance, and volunteer allowance to continuously operate the Bakuna Busses.

Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Iligan City Chapter continues its Bakuna Center operations and vaccinated 671 individuals on September 21, 2021.

PRC has reached more than 234,020 doses administered through the humanitarian organization’s Bakuna Centers and Bakuna Buses which inoculated 182,980 and 51,040, respectively. PRC’s vaccination program first started last March 2021for individuals belonging to the A1 priority group.

PRC Iligan City Chapter opens the first Bakuna Center in Mindanao, and they also provide volunteer doctors to man the vaccination center and shoulder all operating expenses.

“Tuloy tuloy ang ating pagbabakuna. Walang pagod ang ating mga staff at volunteers sa pagbibigay serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan upang tayo ay maging protektado kontra COVID-19,”PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC Iligan city chapter recently augments two medical tents stationed at the Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital due to the rising cases of COVID-19, with 1k active cases reported. The medical tent is a 16-bed capacity serving as a triage for the isolation facility of the hospital.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) started to roll out its bakuna bus last September 06, 2021, in Isabela province, a total of 800 individuals were vaccinated and received their first dose, which was made possible through the PRC mobile vaccine.

PRC Bakuna Bus was initiated by PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon and conducted its first deployment during the vaccination of children against polio, measles-rubella. In this time of the pandemic, Sen. Gordon again initiated to convert buses from Victory Liner, Ube Express, and Ceres bus to a mobile vaccination clinic to inoculate more people in far-flung areas.

Sen. Gordon quickly mobilized the PRC Isabela chapter to spearhead the vaccination initiative in Isabela, having administered 478 doses in Tumauini Community Center, 186 in Lanna Community Center, and 135 in Fugu Sur Community Center. These areas are identified through the PGI-IHPO as high risked areas of Tumaini, Cabagan City of Ilagan and Cauayan City.

“Nagawa natin ito noong pagbabakuna kontra polio at measles. Magagawa din natin kontra COVID-19. Through these bakuna buses, we will be able to reach areas where help is needed. We need to do it fast to beat the invisible enemy,” Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC Isabela Chapter also conducted livelihood programs for 450 families greatly affected by COVID-19. PRC provided 10,000 cash assistance to help the local community farmers, and other residents jumpstart their lives and get back on their feet.

“Dignity is what we give to these people. This assistance will help them stand up on their feet and go on with their lives,” Sen. Gordon added.
