PRC HOT MEALS ON WHEELS GOES TO MARIKINA

Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Hot Meals on Wheels goes to Brgy. Barangka, Marikina to serve 250 individuals. PRC food truck is an initiative by Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon to provide food assistance to families affected by typhoons. However, with the ongoing pandemic, PRC deploys its food truck to different parts nationwide, to feed residents affected by the pandemic.

PRC Marikina chapter has conducted a series of food truck deployments that served hot meals to Minahan, Barangay Malanday, and Brgy. Sto Niño, Marikina. Aside from the mobile food truck, the chapter also conducted a mobile blood donation drive at the Marikina City New Council Parking lot. The event is in partnership with the City Government of Marikina.

“Hanggang may tao ang nagugutom at walang makain lalo na ngayong pandemya, hindi titigil ang Philippine Red Cross sa paghahatid ng tulong lalo na sa ating mga most vulnerable groups kagaya ng Senior Citizens, mga bata, at pregnant women,” Sen. Dick Gordon said.

To date, PRC has served more than 87,900 hot meals this year alone. PRC food trucks are stationed in different parts of the country, namely three in the National Headquarters in EDSA, Mandaluyong, eight units in Luzon, four-unit in the Visayas, and one in Mindanao.

Last month, to further strengthen PRC’s welfare services to provide food for the most vulnerable, PRC procured seven additional food trucks, making a fleet of 23 food trucks, ready to serve hot meals right at your doorstep.
