The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responds to G-Araneta, Brgy. Sto Domingo, Quezon City after a 2nd alarm fire broke out in a residential area last November 22, 2021, at 1 in the afternoon resulting in the injury of 1 individual.
PRC immediately deployed a fire truck, an ambulance, with 10 manpower to extinguish a fire that affected 120 houses and approximately 350 families.
PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said that the public must practice their 4Ps principle—Predict, Plan, Prepare, Practice—to uphold the safety of every family in times of emergencies.
“Dapat lagi tayong handa sa lahat ng mga emergencies. Magiingat din tayo dahil marami ang nangyayaring sunog sa ngayon. Fire safety begins at home. Identify fire hazards in your household and plan out evacuation measures in case of fire emergencies,” Sen. Dick Gordon said.
PRC continues to assist the affected residents by serving ready-to-eat meals to 270 individuals. PRC also assists the residents of Maria Clara St. Barangka Drive, Mandaluyong, due to the recent fire incident that reached the 2nd alarm and affected 74 families through the distribution of face masks, jerry cans, blankets, and hygiene kits to 71 families.
