“Chairman Gordon is my hero for all the work he has done since the start of the pandemic.” These are the words said by Sen. Pia Cayetano as he quoted his brother Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano during the Senate Session No. 25 last November 17,2021.

Sen. Dick Gordon, who is also the Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) , quickly defended the humanitarian organization after remarks on failed tests in PRC Subic Molecular Laboratory were brought up. According to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in a letter, “The RITM found no evidence of contamination for the 48 cases tested by the PRC Subic Laboratory and the results were found to be valid and reliable.”

PRC, the leading organization for COVID-19 testing, recently opened its 14th molecular laboratory to increase the testing capacity of PRC. To date, PRC has conducted 4,955,248 tests, the country’s 21% of the national testing output.

” I would like to commend the Philippine Red Cross staff and volunteers for their dedication in battling COVID-19. The new molecular laboratory will hasten our covid-19 response,” Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC continues to aid the most vulnerable through the implementation of Senm Gordon’s initiatives to alleviate human suffering. PRC is all out in its vaccination program through the deployment of PRC Bakuna Buses and Bakuna Centers to support the LGUs nationwide.

Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon warns the public on complacency in observing health protocols after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved to place Metro Manila under Alert Level 2 on November 5.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), active cases might reach 52,393 next month if the public ignores the safety measures, and pandemic responses such as detection and isolation would slow down.

“Importante na patuloy pa rin tayo magiingat dahil delikado pa rin ang epekto ng virus. Kahit tayo ay bakunado, may kakayahan pa rin tayo na makapanghawa sa mga unvaccinated kagaya ng mga bata. Sa pagbaba sa alert level 2, patuloy pa rin tayo magpatest upang ma kaagad na madetect ang virus, at mag-isolate kung may nararamdamang symptomps,” Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC continues its vaccination program through its Bakuna Bus and Bakuna Centers to combat COVID-19. PRC also started its vaccination to minors aged 12-17 after getting a go-signal from the DOH.

Sen. Dick Gordon also reiterates the importance of regular testing for the detection of COVID-19. As of November 09, 2021, PRC conducted 4,854, 072 tests through Swab and Saliva RT-PCR.

As the humanitarian organization reaches 5 million tests, PRC aims to provide a safe Christmas for everyone through its RT-PCR tests.

RED CROSS BAKUNA BUS DRIVES TO AKLAN

The Philippine Red Cross(PRC) Aklan Chapter continues to drive their Provincial LGU Bus around Aklan to support the National Vaccination Program of the government vaccinating 400 individuals in Ibajay, Aklan last October 27, 2021.

According to the PRC Aklan Chapter, they have administered 2,766 doses as of October 27, 2021, and have now fully vaccinated 668 individuals ever since we first deployed our Bakuna Bus last September 16, 2021.

As of October 27, 2021, the humanitarian organization has vaccinated 366,392 individuals in their 25 Bakuna Centers and 17 Bakuna Buses. PRC staff and volunteers have administered over 253,539 doses in the Bakuna Centers, and over 112,853 doses in the Bakuna Buses.

“Patuloy ang aming serbisyo upang mapaigtingin pa ang pabakakuna lalo na sa mga malalayong komunidad upang makamit ang herd immunity sa bansa,” said Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) vaccinates 1,300 individuals belonging to the A4 category through its Bakuna Center in Light Industry and Science Park 2, Calamba, Laguna last October 27, 2021.
PRC Laguna Chapter, headed by its Chapter Administrator Frank Sorromero, spearheaded the vaccination efforts in Laguna with the assistance of the local government unit. As of October 15, 2021, PRC Laguna Chapter vaccinated 16,255 individuals through its Bakuna Bus and Bakuna Centers.
This initiative is part of the vision of PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon to give the residents of Laguna access to PRC humanitarian services. On the same day, PRC also led the groundbreaking ceremony of the soon-to-build Blood Bank at the City of Sta. Rosa Laguna.
Dick Gordon said.
PRC Laguna Chapter will continue to be of service to the most vulnerable people in Laguna, abiding by its mantra to be always first, always ready, and always there where help is needed.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to be the government’s active ally in its aggressive National COVID-19 Vaccination Program to beat the pandemic. It recently inaugurated its 25th Bakuna Center located at CB Mall Urdaneta, Pangasinan, last October 26, 2021.

“Habang patuloy ang ating laban sa COVID-19, kailangan nating maging maliksi. Ipinapadala namin ang mga bakuna sa mas maraming rehiyon, nag-dedeploy ng karagdagang mga tao, at higit sa lahat pinapabakunahan ang mas maraming tao laban sa COVID-19,” reiterates Senator Dick Gordon.

Over 92 individuals from COVID-19 priority groups A4 received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine supplied by the government in the dry run. The kick-off is the start of PRC Pangasinan’s regular vaccination schedule which plans to innoculate Pangasinenses every Thursday and Friday.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon urged the public to get tested regularly to prevent transmission of COVID-19 after a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed that 91% of Filipinos are bothered that they might transmit or be affected by COVID-19.

As the holiday season is just around the corner, PRC strengthens its testing by introducing the saliva RT-PCR test home service through a partnership with Angkas. PRC priced its home service for PHP 700 for same-day booking and PHP 400 for next-day booking. PRC, recently lowered its price for saliva RT-PCR test from PHP 2,000 to PHP 1,500.

“I am urging everyone to get tested regularly to prevent transmission. Dahil thru testing lamang natin malalaman kung tayo ay positive o hindi. Dahil sa binaba na natin ang presyo ng testing at mayroon ng home service saliva RT-PCR test ay magiging mas ligtas na ang pagpapatest. This will be beneficial for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, at yung mga may comorbidities,” PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC continues its fight against COVID-19, as the humanitarian organization strengthens its testing and vaccination efforts to fight the invisible enemy.

“Kapag tayo ay nagbakauna at nag patest, ay mas mapapabilis natin ang pag balik sa trabaho, makakabalik ang mga bata sa eskwelahan, at mabubuksan ulit natin ang ating ekonomiya,” Gordon added.
