4,467 INDIVIDUALS VACCINATED THROUGH PRC BAKUNA BUS AND BAKUNA CENTERS

 The ongoing surge of COVID-19 cases, since the year 2022 started, which affected thousands of individuals as the Philippines are tallying 25,000 new daily cases on average in the past three weeks. The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) intensified its vaccination program through the continuous deployment of Bakuna Bus, Bakuna Centers, and Bakuna team that vaccinated 4,467 individuals last January 27, 2022.

PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said that continuous operation of the Bakuna Centers, Bakuna Bus, and Bakuna Team augmentation to help the local government unit (LGU) vaccinate more individuals who want to get protected from the virus.

Through PRC’s 26 Bakuna Centers nationwide was able to vaccinate 1,944 individuals consisting of first dose, second dose, and booster shots. PRC Bakuna Buses travelled to far-flung areas and vaccinated 1,472 individuals to make COVID-19 vaccines accessible to the residents. PRC Bakuna Team also assisted the different LGU in Cagayan, Quezon Lucena, Iligan, Basilan, Agusan del Norte, Sultan Kudarat and Bataan to vaccinate 1,051 individuals.

With the current trend of COVID-19 cases in the country, PRC Chairman Gordon encourages everyone to get COVID-19 vaccines for protection against the highly transmissible virus.

“Inilalapit na ng Red Cross ang mga Bakuna sa inyong mga lugar upang mas marami ang ating maprotektahan. Patuloy natin isinasagawa ang ating vaccination upang makabalik na ang tao sa trabaho, makapasok na ulit ang mga bata sa eskwelahan, at

mabuksan na ulit ang mga kabuhayaan ng mga apektado ng COVID-19 pandemic,” Gordon said.

To date, PRC’s Bakuna Centers and Bakuna Buses nationwide have already vaccinated 897,993 individuals.
