RED CROSS: REACHING 1 MILLION DOSES OF COVID-19 VACCINES

Helping the nation win the war against COVID-19, since March 2021, Philippine Red Cross has been at the forefront supporting the National COVID-19 Vaccination rollout through the establishment of 26 Bakuna Centers, the deployment of 17 PRC Bakuna Buses, and the deployment of PRC vaccinators to augment more than 30 LGU-operated Bakuna Centers across the country.

Today, February 12, 2022, the Philippine Red Cross(PRC) has reached another breakthrough as they have now administered one million doses of vaccines.

“The Red Cross has always gone out to bring vaccines to the people, and always assures them of the safety and efficacy of vaccination. Together, let us win our war against COVID-19, ” emphasized Chairman and CEO Senator Richard Gordon.

The PRC’s vaccination program began with the launch of its first Bakuna Center in the PRC National Headquarters last March 23, 2021. Later on, the humanitarian organization first deployed its Bakuna Bus in Barangay Tanong, Marikina, last July 1, 2021. By the end of 2021, the humanitarian organization has administered over 856,208 doses.

The PRC National Vaccination Program is made possible through the support of the International Federation of Red Cross(ICRC), Netherlands Red Cross, German Red Cross, corporate partners such as Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola Foundation, LAZADA, and Bakuna Bus partners; Victory Liner, Ceres Bus, and UBE Express.

“Mabisa ang lahat ng bakuna at makakaligtas ito ng buhay. Hinihikayat ko ang lahat ng Pilipino na magpabakuna na ngayon, ito ang ating solution sa COVID-19” reiterates Senator Richard Gordon.

Outside the vaccine, the PRC shoulders all other costs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Program of the government including but not limited to syringes, mobilization, and vaccinator allowances.
