A tornado hit Brgy. Bantayan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental last May 18, 2023, damaging 14 houses. No casualties were reported.

Due to the armed clash incident that happened in the area last weekend, volunteers and staff of the Philippine Red Cross, Negros Occidental-Bacolod City Chapter were only able to reach the affected community early this week. PRC is preparing to support the community with 1 week’s worth of food supplies and plans to distribute tarpaulins and shelter tool kits to the affected households.
